Class Descriptions

CISSP

Candidates must have a minimum of five years cumulative paid work experience in two or more of the eight domains of the CISSP CBK. Earning a four-year college degree or regional equivalent or an additional credential from the (ISC)² approved list will satisfy one year of the required experience. Education credit will only satisfy one year of experience.

CASP

CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) is the ideal certification for technical professionals who wish to remain immersed in technology as opposed to strictly managing.

CASP+ is the only hands-on, performance-based certification for practitioners - not managers - at the advanced skill level of cybersecurity. While cybersecurity managers help identify what cybersecurity policies and frameworks could be implemented, CASP+ certified professionals figure out how to implement solutions within those policies and frameworks.

PMP Foundations

In this one-day course you will learn the difference between project management and general management, the role of the project manager and the project team. You will also explore project phases, effective use of project management resources and references.

Participants will be taught how to: - Define the terms project and project management - Identify benefits of projects - Identify the phases of a project’s life cycle - Sell ideas and make presentations - Prioritize projects - Begin conceptualizing their project, including goals and vision statements - Use a target chart and other planning tools - Complete a Statement of Work.

PMP/CAPM Exam Prep Course

This course prepares students to pass the Project Management Institute's (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP)® or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification exams. The course presents parallel military and civilian project examples, analogies, and terminology to solidify understanding of how to answer behaviorally-based PMI exam questions. This course includes PMP® Application preparation assistance and fulfills the PMI Education requirement for 35 contact hours.

CEH – Certified Ethical Hacker

A Certified Ethical Hacker is a skilled professional who understands and knows how to look for weaknesses and vulnerabilities in target systems and uses the same knowledge and tools as a malicious hacker, but in a lawful and legitimate manner to assess the security posture of a target system(s). The CEH credential certifies individuals in the specific network security discipline of Ethical Hacking from a vendor-neutral perspective.

CCNA- Cisco Certified Network Associate

The widely respected Cisco Career Certifications bring valuable, measurable rewards to network professionals, their managers, and the organizations that employ them. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is one of the most valued certifications in the IT industry. Anyone seeking to pursue or advance their career as a network technician, network administrator, or information security specialist will benefit from the range of theoretical and practical skills covered by the CCNA certification course of study.

This course prepares students to succeed when taking the CCNA Certification Exam.  CCNA validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size routed and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. CCNA also covers basic mitigation of security threats. CCNA certification is a prerequisite for Cisco’s more advanced certifications such the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
